The FDA is urging consumers not to use certain hand sanitizer products it deems ineffective (subpotent), or in some cases, potentially toxic. The FDA expanded its list of potentially deadly hand sanitizers, noting that some companies are selling products that contain methanol, a form of alcohol that can be poisonous to people when absorbed through their skin.
